Mother's Day

Remember, everyone, that Sunday, May 13, is Mother's Day. Whether at church or at home, don't forget to say a prayer of thanksgiving for your mother and then try to make the day special for her. Husbands, if your wives are mothers, too, make them feel special and give them a day off!

Easter Egg Hunt 2012

Family of Hope's annual Easter Egg Hunt is almost upon us! We will have games, prizes, a free snack, and a performance from Jeremiah 29:11 Ministries. Also, there will be several egg hunts, for different age groups of children, 1-12 years old. This is a family-oriented event focused on providing fun and fellowship to the community, as well as sharing the Word of God.

This event is Family of Hope's largest outreach of the year.  Last year, over 550 attended the event. It was a great day, full of fellowship and family fun.

If you'd like to help, please consider a donation. We are currently most in need of prizes. Suggestions include a bicycle, MP3 player, skateboard, game balls, children’s movies, large stuffed animals, toys (such as cars and trucks), Easter baskets for all ages and/or gift cards. If you represent a local business and would like to donate, please call Lori Kelley at (915) 490-5348.

UPDATE: The Easter Egg this year was an enormous success. More than 550 people attended! Jeremiah 29:11 Ministries were outstanding and all our volunteers went above and beyond. Family of Hope thanks you all for giving to the Lord.

Valentine's Day Candy Sale

From now until Valentine's Day, Family of Hope will be selling orders of chocolate-covered strawberries (as many as will fit in a rose box) for $20.00 and chocolate-covered peanut clusters for $10.00 per order.

We would like to take as many orders of possible ahead of time so that we will know how many to prepare. If you'd like to order, please contact Lori Kelley at (915) 490-5348.

UPDATE: The candy sale was a big success again this year! Thanks to all the people bought candy and all those who donated their time to make this fundraiser happen.

A Family in Need

On January 12, a home in the Mission Estates community burned, leaving the Rangel family without belongings. The Rangels are a single mother with 3 children: 2 girls (ages 17 & 14) and 1 boy (age 12). This tragedy has left them in a position where they need to replace everything: kitchenware, furniture, clothing, toiletries, etc. If you are reading this, please consider making a donation.  You may contact the Mission Estates office in El Paso at (915) 858-9276.

Annual Business Meeting

Every year, Family of Hope holds a business meeting to discuss the "state of the union" of the church. This year, the annual business meeting will be on Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at 6:30 PM. All church members should consider attendance mandatory.

There will be a vote to elect a new trustee to the church council and votes to approve amendments to the church's Constitution and Bylaws. Also, department leaders must present a report of their department's progress in 2011 and goals for 2012.
